Nordic Eye Institute was founded in 2024 by Professor Goran Petrovski, a world-renowned ophthalmic surgeon, researcher, and educator, together with his life partner, Dr. Beata Eva Petrovski, an international expert in public health, epidemiology, disease prevention, and medical statistics.

Drawing on their extensive experience at leading international eye-health clinics and a broad global collaborative network, the institute combines specialist ophthalmology, optometry, digital care, clinical studies, and responsible innovation in a patient-centered environment.

Our mission is to deliver fast access to expert care, clear guidance, and advanced diagnostic pathways, while driving evidence-based research, AI-supported screening, and international collaboration to advance eye health.

Founder, professor and ophthalmic surgeon

Professor Goran Petrovski

Professor Petrovski is a leading expert in ophthalmology with extensive experience in lens surgery, vitreoretinal surgery and eye-health research. He has performed more than 7,500 eye operations, led major research initiatives in diabetic-retinopathy screening and personalised medicine, and is recognised for innovation in AI-supported diagnostics.

He has served as an educator and supervisor in Norway and internationally, is the Norwegian delegate and examiner for the European Board of Ophthalmology exam, and has received awards including the TOP25 Physician-Scientist Award in Hungary and the European Society of Ophthalmology Lecturer Award.

Dr. Beáta Éva Petrovski

Beáta Éva Petrovski is an optometrist with a PhD and more than 20 years of experience in clinical eye health, research and patient care. She has worked as a senior researcher at Oslo University Hospital, Ullevål, and has formal training and certification in diabetic-retinopathy grading from England.

Krystian Dziedzic

Krystian is a fifth-year medical student at the University of Oslo and part of the Forskerlinje programme. His research focuses on retinal disease and advanced OCT-based imaging, and he works clinically with dry-eye assessment, pre-examinations and light therapy follow-up.

Ophthalmologist and retinal imaging researcher

Dr. Daniel R. Muth

Dr. Muth is a specialist in ophthalmology at St. Erik Eye Hospital in Solna, Sweden, with previous experience as senior physician for medical retina at the University Hospital Zurich. His research focuses on multimodal imaging including OCT, OCT angiography, ultrasound, adaptive optics, extended reality and AI.

Dr. Silvia NW Herzberg

Dr. Herzberg contributes to diabetic-retinopathy grading and screening workflows, supporting structured image review, documentation and quality-focused follow-up in research and teleophthalmology projects.
